When you visit our website, we will not collect any personal Information, such as your name, phone number, email address, country, and city where you reside, country to and from where you require the moving service, unless you voluntarily provide it. You agree and commit to accept the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy as explained in this section of the website. If you do not accept the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, please do not provide any personal information through this website.
Information gathered will be used for custom clearing your shipment and, only furnished to any other person or party for custom clearing your shipment and final delivery. We may use your personal information to administer, operate, manage your relationship with L&G Intl. Movers. We may also furnish information to law enforcement under court order. We want to ensure that the legally protected interests of all our clients are strictly protected and strictly observed. We protect customers information against unauthorized usage, this burden will fall upon General Manager or his assistant.
All clients, companies, contractors doing business with L&G International Movers should consult with our privacy notice located in email signature and also our webpage. We obtain implicit and explicit consent from clients to collect, use and disclose their personal information thru same email signature or webpage. We collect all necessary information by email, we only retain personal information for as long as necessary to get shipments to final destination. Customers can change and update personal information by just sending a request with proper documentation.
To perform above, we will need your residence address, copy of passport, email, cell number, telephone number, work number and any other information requested by custom authorities, but your personal information is only shared with outside parties for purpose of custom clearing. Your personal information is received by import/export manager or general manager and same is filed in incoming or outgoing files, same are numbered with client’s name and put in locked metal cabinet, if your personal information is sent to agents outside Dominican Republic, it is also used only for purpose of custom clearance and delivering your shipment to your country of final destination. Private individuals can obtain personal information in our files by requesting information, we will send information in no more than 48 hours.
If you not object in writing to above terms and conditions, it is clearly understood that you agree to those terms and conditions. Kindly be advised that if you object to either supplying your personal information or objecting we share your personal information with proper authorities or agents abroad, then we can’t accept services of getting your shipment to final destination.
After request is received, we will have 3 business days to answer request. If request is sent incomplete, then we will answer within those 3 business days and clarify any issues, if client persists in objecting use of personal information, then our service will be withdrawn, and client will not be serviced.
You have the right to agree, rectify and cancel your personal information, as well as object to the use of same or revoke your consent for permission granted. You must let us know in writing, confirming your identity and clearly specifying your request not to use your personal information, you must email us at info@lginternationalmovers.com. You have the right to know which personal information we have in our files about you.
Personal data on file must be correct, complete, and kept up to date. Suitable action must be taken to ensure that inaccurate or incomplete data are deleted, corrected, supplemented, or updated. This will be check in internal audits conducted twice a year to ensure is being done. Inaccurate and incomplete data must be deleted/ rectified within 30 days of discovery.
Complaints related to privacy (escalation procedure)
Anybody in the company can receive the complaint by phone, email or personally and must be passed on to the General manager assistant within 3 days. Steps to treat complaints are:
The determination of whether a data breach occurred is made by the data protection manager which is General manager assistant. Any data subject who suspects that a personal data breach has occurred because of the misuse, theft or exposure of personal data must immediately notify the data protection manager or contact person providing a description of what occurred. Caonabo #10 plaza irene, local 306, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The data protection manager will investigate all reported incidents to confirm if a personal data breach has occurred. If a personal data breach is confirmed, the data protection manager will follow the relevant authorized procedure based on the criticality and quantity of the personal data involved. For severe personal data breaches, an investigation with local authorities will be opened to ensure this data is not used for malign purpose.

Personal information is only kept in our files if client is being serviced, after that, it is kept in locked files until disposal by shredding that under Dominican law is 10 years. We keep backups of data for security reasons (for loss or destruction reasons), the manager in charge (export & imports) has the responsibility to keep the data in a one drive cloud. We have anti-virus in every computer to avoid any data breach & unauthorized access to customer’s data.

FD5-This data (privacy) was reviewed and completed on October 25, 2023 and was communicated to all employees on October 26, 2023. This data privacy is reviewed and updated yearly, next update and review will take effect October 28, 2024. Person in charge of quality control will be in charge of reviewing and updating annually (if necessary will be updated before the cicle) of privacy notice, make appropriate changes to make privacy notice more adaptable, communicating these changes to employees by mean of signed memorandum.
